Good Times, Old Age, & the Best Of 2023

Rabo de Nube Album Cover

The Minneapolis StarTribune on Saturday published a long list of well-known persons who died in 2023. Good grief I thought. I grew up listening to and watching many of these people: Tony Bennet, Tina Turner, Harry Belafonte who I listened to in junior high school, Jimmy Buffett, Raquel Welch, Burt Bacharach, Alan Arkin, David Crosby from my college years, Tom Smothers who I remember on black-and-white TV with his brother, Gordon Lightfoot, Robbie Robertson of The Band, Pee Wee Herman (a.k.a. Paul Reubens), . . . I must be truly old to remember these people from when they and I were young.

For the video below of my best photos from 2023, I chose an appropriate song, “Good Times” by Ray Bonneville. It’s appropriate because of this lyric:

Please think about the good times

but not the bad

I’ll take this advice, and I’ll think about the good times yet to come.

Most of the photos are from Lake Pepin on the Mississippi River; Crex Meadows State Wildlife Area near Grantsburg, Minnesota; and the St. Croix River in Stillwater, Minnesota.

It was a good year.
