More Mushrooms
Last week, along the Ice Age National Scenic Trail in Straight Lake State Park, there were so many mushrooms I was afraid of treading on them. A week later, and again on the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, there were almost no mushrooms. The past week has been dry and unseasonably warm. I was on a section of the trail in the McKenzie Creek State Wildlife Area, perhaps drier terrain than in Straight Lake State Park. For whatever reason, I had to search diligently to find any mushrooms.
It was a fine hike on a fine day on a fine trail, and I did find some fine mushrooms, just a few.
“If you’re feeling creative, do the errands tomorrow. If you’re fit and healthy, take a day to go surfing. When inspiration strikes, write it down. The calendar belongs to everyone else. Their schedule isn’t your schedule unless it helps you get where you’re going.”
