On the Wrong Track

Literally, I was on the wrong track, or more correctly, the wrong trail. Saturday, I planned on hiking a section of the Ice Age National Trail in the McKenzie State Wildlife Area near Luck, Wisconsin. I hiked in the McKenzie, but not on the Ice Age Trail. I knew the trailhead location I planned to use and thought I’d found it. It was on the right highway, and I found a trailhead with signs and a small parking area. Nothing on the signs mentioned the Ice Age Trail. The trail was only about a half-mile long, It was a nice trail that ended at a nice lake, Margaret Lake.

I later discovered that the correct trailhead was only a half-mile east on the same road. Now that I know where it is, I’ll return this week.

The photos below were taken from the trail to Margaret Lake except for the last two. I took those by the County O Flowage in the Fish Lake State Wildlife Area.
